I just noticed that the Elmore County News Blog has been discontinued. It sad when a local citizen decides to discontinue his blog/website but I certainly understand. It's a busy world and a busy life so maybe the author just couldn't do as good a job as he wished he could. Hopefully in the future this website will be back on line????
End of September 6th, 2008 Update
I was searching the Internet for a particular business in Mountain Home a couple days ago and I found the following website:

For those of you who are new to the “Blogging World”, you can think of people who develop websites like the “Elmore County News Blog” as citizen journalists. While traditional journalist offer a steady stream of news to Mountain Home residents, the citizen journalist can offers a different viewpoint into “Life just off Interstate 84”.
Becoming a Mountain Home Citizen Journalist isn't all that difficult. The only thing required is a computer, an internet connection and TIME. Developing a blog or website like the Elmore County News Blog cost nothing but requires a little perseverance to learn the in's and out's of blogging. Anyone who can use a word processing type program like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice should have the skills necessary to start their own website or blog. The great part about starting a blog is you don't even need a word processing type program.
I will warn you that the hardest part of maintaining a website is the TIME factor. It may not seem like it but to write a good news story or an interesting blog is very time consuming. But once it is written, publishing your news is quick and painless.
