This is Part 2 of the Bondyweb Walmart Real Estate Index for Mountain Home, Idaho
Part 1 can be read here
Friday evening of July 9th, 2010 I had orders to buy a couple of gallons of whole milk for my wife's cheese making project. So off I went to Walmart. I traveled the same 2.7 miles as on July 2nd while counting the total number of homes for sale along the way.
The Numbers
July 2, 2010 – 11 Homes for Sale
July 9, 2010 – 12 Homes for Sale
Results of My "Walmart Homes for Sale in Mountain Home Idaho Index"
According to my non-scientific real estate index, the Mountain Home real estate market is getting worse. I found 12 homes for sale on this day compared to 11 homes just one week earlier. From my "getting old and forgetful" memory, it looks like one of last weeks homes sold and two additional homes were put up for sale.
Trulia Data Says Otherwise
According to the website "Trulia, there appears to be little or no change in the total amount of 3 bedrooms home for sale in the city. But it does look like the current "buyers market" is holding steady as the average asking price has dropped from $160,054 to $158,306 in the last 20 days.
