Slow Mountain Home Real Estate Market Continues Through Oct 2010
The weather has finally changed to a more Fall type pattern. This meant a trip to Walmart on Sunday October 24th, 2010. The real estate market still appears to be quite stagnant but some homes are selling and new homes are coming up for sale. Basically, the "homes for sale" count along my route to Walmart hasn't changed in over a month. The only difference is 1 home no longer has a "For Sale" sign in front of it and a new home does. That gives us a total of 6 homes for sale in the Bondyweb's Walmart Real Estate Index.
The bad news is the number of home in some state of foreclosure has apparently increased from 4 to 5 homes. One of these homes could be just vacant with no "For Sale" sign but the grass is dead and no one is living in the house.
The Walmart Real Estate Trend Graph and Numbers

July 2, 2010 – 11 Homes for Sale
July 9, 2010 – 12 Homes for Sale
July 18, 2010 – 12 Homes for Sale
September 6, 2010 – 6 Homes for Sale
October 24, 2010 – 6 homes for Sale
Intermountain Multiple Listing Service Bleak Real Estate Figures
Found an interesting website that provides some statistics for real estate in Elmore County and Mountain Home, Idaho. The numbers they show are quite bleak for the 3rd Quarter of 2010. The lowlights are:
- Average price of Elmore County single family homes is now $124,242 or down 26% from 2009's 3rd Quarter.
- Existing Home Sales have dropped over 15% from 2009's 3rd Quarter.
- Only 5 newly constructed homes sold in Elmore County in the 3rd Quarter compared to 17 home sales in 2009's 3rd Quarter.

Need to Sell Your Home? On-line Tour Created Just For Your Home
I understand it's a rough real estate market in Mountain Home. It's almost like you have to get lucky to sell a house and I suspect not many people are even looking to buy right now. But to sell your house, you have to get people to look at it.
I'm willing to help you get some added exposure and a nice little virtual tour created for your home. Use my "Contact Me" (http://bondyweb.com/contact-us-mainmenu-3/12-contacts/2-tim-bondy) and we'll discuss it.
