The US Economic Outlook – Scary or Rosy?

The Big Picture website

Let's start this post out with a joke
Question: Why did God create economists?
Answer: In order to make weather forecasters look good.

I found an article about where "one person" thinks the US economy is headed in the near future. While this doesn't pertain directly to Mountain Home or Idaho, it's still an interesting article that all business people should read.

You can read the entire article titled "The recession is over but the depression has just begun" from a website called "The Big Picture by clicking HERE !

As happens so often, articles on other websites tend to disappear or the link changes. If the link becomes broken, you can download a "pdf" version of the article by clicking HERE

WARNING: This article is long, complex, technical and will make you drowsy but makes some good points.

Tim Bondy's prediction for the coming two years
Not as dire as Edward Harrison, the author of the article, but I don't see a great year economically speaking at least. I see a double-dip recession coming in 2010 with the economy recovering in late 2011. Of course when the US economy recovers, expect the price of oil to skyrocket and $4.00 + gallon of gas will become common place.

What are your thoughts and where do you think the US and/or world economy is headed in the near future????

Thanks,
