Monday February 21st 2011 – Snowy Bennett Mountain Photo

My dog Addie and I hiked along Rattlesnake Creek in the Bennett Hills north of Mountain Home Idaho last week. With no destination in mind we walked southeast along a snow covered road. At about the 2 mile point, the road drops down a south facing canyon and the snow cover disappeared making for a very sloppy muddy hike.
Going off road and uphill seemed like the best route from that point. So we headed straight up Peak 5142. From on top of this peak, the view expanded into a 360 panorama. It was from this peak I took the above picture.

- Distance: 4.0 miles
- Elevation Gain/Loss: 470 feet
- Max Slope: 43% while hiking up south side of Peak 4152
- Weather Conditions: Low 30's with occasional snowshowers.
