There are three Commissioner Districts and in each even-numbered election year one district is up for election to a 4-year term and one district is up for election to a 2-year term. In 2006, District 1 was elected to a 2-year term and District 3 was elected to a 4-year term. In 2008, District 1 was elected to a 4-year term and district 2 was elected to a 2-year term. In 2010, District 2 is up for a 4-year term and District 3 is up for a 2-year term. In 2012, District 3 is up for a 4-year term and District 1 is up for a 2-year term (et cetera).
